Special directions for downloading and saving SELECTIONS FROM MY MIDI and ROXETTE LISTS I. Creating a New Folder for Downloads Before downloading a file, you can make a special folder for storing it. You can store as many files of all types in the folder as you wish and you can also point your Web browser's "Save As" Dialog Box to this spot. Just follow these steps: A. For PC's with Windows 95/98/ME/NT: 1.) RIGHT-click anywhere on the Windows desktop. 2.) Select "New" then "Folder" from the pop-up menus. 3.) A folder will appear on your desktop with its default name "New Folder" highlighted. 4.) Type the word "Downloads" over the folder's current highlighted label and then click elsewhere on the desktop. Place your mouse cursor over the folder or name and click, hold the mouse button down and drag the folder to a place on the desktop where you want it. B. For Macintosh 1. In the "Finder," select "New Folder" under the File menu. 2. A folder named "Untitled" will appear on your desktop. Continue as in #4 above. ************************************************* II. For Internet Explorer 4.0+, when the pop-up menu appears, left-click on the words "Save target as" (If using Netscape, choose "Save target as..." "Save link as..." or "Save file") and download to an already created "Downloads" folder on your desktop or to a directory (folder) of your choice in the C Drive of your computer. 5.) Choose, "Save this...to disk" NOT "Run this...from current location." The "Save As Dialog Box" will look like the illustration below-- note where the mouse arrows are pictured--you click on these places in order to point your browser to the folder you created on the desktop or you can create a new folder right in this dialog box where the mouse arrow points on the upper right. After all is completed, then just click on the "Save" button. "Save As" Dialog Box: |
